How to Respec in Granblue Fantasy Relink

Learning Skills in Granblue Fantasy Relink comes with a price. Players will spend a valuable resource called Mastery Points (or MSP) to unlock skills. As you purchase a new skill under Masteries, you will get a chance to view what you’re buying because when it comes to respec-ing, there’s no option to do it. Once a Skill has been purchased, there’s no way to refund the MSP, and you will keep that skill, forever.

But, an unused skill is not exactly a waste. Character Masteries follow a branch system that trickles down to new skills, passives, and other augments. This means that unlocking a Skill will let you unlock more new nodes that are currently available. Typically, the stronger the skill is, the further down the progression it will be. So if you want to get stronger skills, you have to be willing to spend your MSPs.

Character Mastery Progression

As players progress their Character Masteries, they can unlock a Skill Node that is either Offensive or Defensive. They can bring forth devastating damage together with debuff effects, or strong healing properties that can buff allies. Both of which will greatly determine the results of the battle.

You will also go through several nodes of passive effects before you get to a skill node. Depending on the type, a passive node can range from additional attack damage, skill damage, additional HP, healing effects, and other resistances. Any of the passive nodes purchased will stack and provide buffs and stats to your character.

You can also identify the nodes by looking at their shapes. A triangle node is a Skill node, while the Circle nodes are buffs, stats, or passives. Active Skill nodes are usually more expensive than passive nodes, as they provide more effects when used in combat.

Skip some Skills in the Mastery Progression

As you level up your Characters, you will reach a point where some skills can be skipped. This is a choice that you can make so you can save your Mastery Points while weighing in on how this will affect your character’s overall build.

A game like Granblue Fantasy Relink puts emphasis on commitment. Having a skill system without a respec mechanic reminds players to be mindful of the choices they make as they will be stuck with those unlocked skills forever. As you get deeper into the Mastery Progression, you will forego Skills that are irrelevant to your build, so you can decide to skip those.

Players may only equip a total of 4 Skills in their loadout. So if you have excess Skills, you will not be able to use them simultaneously. The key to optimizing your build is planning. • Mastery Points are earned as characters level up
• Can be recovered from Treasure Chests
• Normal Story Progression
• Completing Side Quests from the Quest Counter and NPCs
• Use a Crewmate Card in Siero’s Knickknack Shack for “bonus” MSP

One of the good practices you can do to manage your Mastery Points is to review your current party composition and analyze your strengths and weaknesses. This will give you a direction on what Skill and which Characters to upgrade so that you will be using your points wisely. As you reach higher levels, you will unlock Skills that are more powerful and useful in combat.

Try New Characters with the Crewmate Card

One of the joys of playing role-playing games (RPG) such as Granblue Fantasy Relink is customizing your characters or reinventing a party. You can do this by equipping your favorite ones with Sigils, Weapons, and ultimately, learning Skills in their Masteries. On the other hand, you can also consider giving new members a chance to join your party.

Let’s say you have reached a point where you feel like one of your characters isn’t doing well in combat, or you’re not dealing enough damage to your enemies, or they’re simply no longer synergized with other party members. This is a good time to consider getting a new party member and you can do this by using the Crewmate Card to unlock a new ally.

To recruit an ally, you need to obtain a Crewmate Card which is earned by completing quests. Visit Siero’s Knickknack Shack and choose Crewmate Card. You will view a list of all available characters that you can call upon to join you in combat. Using a Crewmate Card will not only get you a new member, but it also comes with bonus Mastery Points that you can use.
